Our Story

Since 2017, Abundant Microgreens has set the standard for quality and consistency for Tulsa grown microgreens. We use filtered water, organic soil, and a climate controlled indoor greenhouse to produce flavorful, colorful, and nutritious migcrogreens. We hand sow and hand water all our products with tender-loving care. This is more than a business venture for George and Kasey, this is a labor of love.

George was raised on a garden center back on rural Long Island, NY.  He was surrounded by horse farms, pansy fields, potato farms, plenty of trees, and lots of plants!  His grandparents owned a nursery called Maggio’s Nursery.  His grandfather would get up early and plant seeds in the winter in a greenhouse.  The soil he used was screened and steamed to ensure there were no weed seeds in the soil.  Several weeks later he would transplant the seedlings into smaller containers.  Later in the Spring George’s whole family would be involved with growing, watering, and selling the vegetable and flower plants.

How We Started

In 2017, while George was researching urban farming he came across microgreens.  He thought this would be a great way to garden for himself because he could carve out some space in a spare bedroom and grow a few trays of seeds and eat the vegetables after only 10 days.  He bought a starter kit, planted his first two trays, saw the shoots grow, and he was hooked!  Talk about instant gratification!  He was eating something he had planted just 10 days earlier!  Every time he plants trays of seeds George reconnects with his grandfather and his childhood days in those greenhouses.
